I believe the taming efficiency is all about how you knock them out. Slingshot opposed to fists. Tranq arrows opposed to the slingshot, ect ect. Ive used Tranq arrows and gotton 99% eff right off the bat on some dino's. Also time of day and all that as its been said. The time it would take you to starve them anyway, you coulda been spending taming.

yep, starve awaking taming still works. You just have to render the dino. Knock out a dino, force feed him to full life is neccessary, let him wake up. Wait some time, knock out again, instant tame.
